Well. puppies are growing rapidly at this point. Everyone is weaned and eating puppy food well. They are all interacting and playing together nicely. We are socializing them on a daily basis and all are going outside on a regular basis. Visitors are very suprised at how they know exactly what to do when they hit the grass. Families are visiting regulary and I am updating on a weekly basis to the individuals that have committed to a puppy.
The blacks that I have left are just lovely. I really could not ask for a lovelier head on these puppies! Lucy and Desi do produce my most elegant puppies. Lucy's pedigree goes back to Minnesota Magic and Desi's pedigree is packed with Champions.
Lexie and Dusty puppies are on the smaller side of the breed and produce wonderful lap puppies! They love to be held. The roans in this litter are just gorgeous. Roans are very unusual in that their faces turn completely dark by the time they are six months old, so it is sometimes hard to invision what they will look like at this stage, but you talk about stunning! They are really sought after in the show world! I would love to see the two male merles go together as they make a beautiful pair!
You can see puppies on the Availabe Puppies Page. I do make payment arrangements if you would really like a puppy and just cannot make the payment all at one time. I do understand the economic pressure right now. You can contact me at klscockers@hotmail.com or phone at 205-616-1604.
Please remember that when a family loses a beloved pet it is a huge loss and sometimes they need to bring a new puppy in as soon as possible to help with the grieving process. By placing a hold on puppies for a later date without committing puts me in such a hard place for potential families. I just do not feel that I am providing the quality service to families that are ready to make that commitment, so from this point forward all puppies will be on a first come, first serve basis. If you are approved by me to bring one of my puppies into your family then I will need a deposit to hold that puppy in your name. So many times several families are interested in the same puppy and I am just going to stay hard to my rule that the one that gets the deposit to me first will get the puppy. It is really the only way that I know individuals are really committed to a puppy.
Also, I would like potential families to realize that the conversations and visits that we hold before placing a puppy with them is not only them evaluating my breeding standards and ethics, but me also evaluating that family as a potential owner, As a responsible breeder I want my babies placed in the best possible environment and I strive to do my due diligence to feel I have accomplished that goal.
When considering bringing a new puppy in your home please look at the potential kennel you are considering carefully. Some of the things you need to watch for are how many dogs that kennel is housing. If they are breeding multiple dogs year round they cannot be giving the puppies the attention that they deserve or the females the rest they need to live long and happy lives. Again, just know that if your decision leads you to one of our puppies we have spent many hours preparing this puppy to transition to a new home, Puppies are born in my home where they receive the best of care. I begin working on housebreaking at a very early age and by 5 weeks they are going outside on a regular basis. We begin holding and cuddling our babies from day one and have all different ages of friends come in to hold and play with the puppies.during their short stay with us. By the time they reach your home they are very well socialized with humans and animals.
I encourage visits after the pups are up and going if you are close enough. Some families will come by every weekend to hold and cuddle their baby. This is valuable bonding time with you and your new addition. They become familiar with your smell and it makes the transition to your new home easier. I also like to start using the name that you have chosen for your baby. They become familiar with the sound and by the time they leave will respond to that name. I have a close relationship with my vets and my puppies will have seen the vet twice before leaving at 8 weeks of age. We are dedicated to raising the highest quality puppy we possibly can. I spend numerous hours taking care of these babies and receive tremendous joy in placing them in just the right home.
