Welcome to KLS Cockers! We are a small hobby kennel in
You might ask why I chose this theme for my website? Well, it just seemed natural. Movies have always been a big deal in our family. We have a huge collection for our personal viewing. Enjoy the show!
My family and I live in a small town outside of Birmingham, Alabama. Mountain Brook is a great little city to raise children and work. My husband Gregg and I have three boys. Gregg is a labor attorney that works from home, a great help with the cockers. Rumor has it that he can be seen sitting in the front yard playing with puppies at any given time. I am an accountant in the Mountain Brook area. I work very close to my home so that I can visit during the day if need be to see what is going on in the dog world. Our oldest, Jonathan and youngest son, Jordan are enrolled at the University of Alabama and our middle son, Spenser is at Wofford in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
To put a face with the KLS Cockers name, this is me below at the JDRF Gala with one of my puppies that I donated and was auctioned at that Gala. Buddy went to a great home in Mountain Brook and raised $2,400.00 for the cause. You might ask if it concerned me that I did not know who this puppy was going to go home with that night. I have to say not really. These families are very dedicated to this cause due to the fact that their children have this disease. They are looking for a special companion for their child to grow up with and I am honored that I can be a part of that process. Buddy actually has a beach home and spends his summers there. What a life!!!
I would like to introduce my husband Gregg. Gregg grew up with a cocker spaniel and the boys have had one since they were very small. We had our first cocker, Mica for 16 years. He is really the reason that we started raising cockers. He was a wonderful companion for our whole family. I think cockers are just beautiful companions, the big beautiful eyes, the plush coats, and the long ears. I say all this to help you understand where our love of the breed comes from. We are dedicated to raising beautiful, loving companions with great temperments!
Each of our boys are invested in this production! They have taken funds from their savings bonds, grants, and savings account to be able to have a part ownership in a dog. Jonathan is part owner of Alexandra, blue and tan roan. Spenser is part owner of our beautiful silver cocker, Radd and Jordan is part owner of Karma, Brazilian puppy champion. My boys are the ones that come home and take care of the cockers when Gregg and I take a trip. I am very paticular about the routine that my dogs are on and it is very important to me that someone that understands their value to me take care of them when I am not available. Momma can be hard when it comes to the cockers, just ask my boys!
I am MiMi to my two great nieces Erin and Katylinn (pictured below) that spend a lot of time at our house. They are the grandaughters to my sister, Susan that passed away unexpectedly the year before Erin was born. I became the surrogate grandmother and they each started staying with me from the time they were about 5 weeks old. They have their own room here (which was sooo much fun for me having all boys)! The boys cashed in on them when they were very little as the girl's were great chick magnets when they would take them anywhere. They love playing with the dogs and they provide great socialization experiences for the puppies.

The young man to the right is my nephew, Kyle. He is my brother's son and is always willing to give some special attention to a puppy when he visits. What a handsome young man!
This is our story and I hope that it relays to you how dedicated we all are in this family production!
